Kawai Kanjiro Museum in Kyoto

Kawai Kanjiro Museum in Kyoto

On the way to Kyoto Station, we had time to stop by Kanjiro Kawai Museum inKyoto in the morning. As you know, Kanjiro Kawai was one of the leaders of Mingei Movement, like Shoji Hamada, Barnard Leach, Soetsu Yanagi. Kanjiro Kawai was very very nice traditional craftsman but he never stopped researching new technique and materials like a pioneer. Since he died in 1966, his house and studio was renewed as a private museum and people can see and walk around in it nowadays.

e-yakimono net by Robert Yellin has Kanjiro Kawai Museum’s information and article.
