Kiln Building Update 8/1

We finished working on wooden frame, so got back to brick work. Bad for back. Our friend, David Stuempfle came to help us this week, too. Thanks, David. We got work done one layer and could put some bricks on another layer by dark. We will try to put several more layers this weekend. X-day is getting close.

And there is a mystery. We went to our friends house on Thursday night, and Takuro got up and went to work kiln on Friday early morning, and he found a golf ball with tee on the ground next to kiln. Who did play golf between Thursday night and Friday early morning around wood kiln???

Thought I'd leave a comment to say how much I enjoy reading your Blog. I came upon your kiln project a few months ago via another potter's Blog. Sending you good wishes from Alaska. Your kiln is beautiful.

Things are coming along quite nicely.
Maybe it is time to take a break and play some golf!

Nothing like a break from kiln-building to drive a few balls. The kiln looks like it's going to be lovely. Hoping to see some pots some time in the next few months.

Dear everyone

Thank you for visiting our blog. I completely forgot about having comment for this blog. Your comments makes me motivated to keep updating.

Our kiln building is going slow because we have job (STARworks Ceramics), but maybe it's good to work slow because there are so many things to do and think.

We are probably able to finish Anagama chamber soon. And then we will a little bit take off from this work and start making pots for an exhibition. It seems we can have real break time after the first firing in this Fall...
