Clean up around kiln

On New Year's day, after eating Ozoni in the morning, we started burning scrap woods from kiln shed in the Anagama chamber. It was completely same as when you start wood firing. We could also clean up kiln area and make bricks and mortal dry. Until 5pm, kiln got pretty warm and we were pleased because it was going to be really really cold after New Year's day. We hope this cold weather will go away sooner, so that we can do more preparation for the firing.

It must be wonderful to see a fire in the firebox. Even if it's just to dry out the masonry. And ozoni sounds delicious, too.
