Unloading and clean up

Last Friday (4/9) after work, we started unloading kiln with friends.
It seemed like good firing and temperature was pretty even.
We are really happy about the results. We will have the first kiln opening sale on April 17th (Sat)
at the Celebration of Seagrove Potters Spring event weekend,
and hope people will come to see us.

On Saturday (4/10), we had a landscape person and he cleaned up around kiln shed by his tractor. It was really mess and there were lots of sand and gravel, but he just worked only 2 hours and all mess was gone. Thanks, Keith!
Ken was impressed by John Deer. What a cool equipment it was.

Wood firing #2 went well

We had a wood firing (2nd chamber only) in this Easter weekend. Takuro made many changes of kiln, for instance grate, bagwall and how to stack shelves. Also we had dry firewood (really important!), more insulation and no storm this time. Finish loading on Friday 8pm, then started preheating, started stoking wood at 5am on Saturday, kept firing, then finish it at 5am on Sunday morning. It was 24 hours wood firing plus one night preheating.
Many many thanks to:
